Nursery Cook

Join our Nursery team as a Cook at our thriving Day Nursery. As the key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious, varied meals to our children from babies to Holiday club (up to 11 years old)

Overview:
As a Cook, you will be responsible for meal preparation, food safety, and ensuring a high standard of cleaning in preparation areas for children within our setting.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and cook menu items in compliance with food hygiene standards
- Assist in creating and planning menus
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate food production
- Maintain a clean and organized work area complying with food hygiene standards
- Cater for allergies and intolerances in line with food hygiene standards
- Complete and file accurate records in line with the food standard agency Safer Food Better Business record book.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience working in a kitchen
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Kitchen experience is a plus
- Passion for cooking and creating nutritious, child friendly dishes.

A level 2 Food Hygiene in catering certificate is a necessity as well as working with allergies and intolerances.

The hours of this position will be Monday-Friday 09:30-13:30 all year round.

**Job Type**: Permanent

Pay: £11.44 per hour
