Our Bakkavor business in Bo’ness, based near Falkirk, specialises in the production of fresh, high quality salad products working primarily with premium retailers. To give you a sense for the scale of manufacturing in Bo’ness we produce over 70million salad based meals and side dishes from our 2 manufacturing facilities employing over 1200 people in the town.

**The Role**

As the Safety, Health and Environment Coordinator, you will be responsible for the coordination of health and safety within the factory by providing proactive support to the SHE Manager and producing reports and statistics for both internal and external customers.

**Duties include**:

- Assisting the management team and provide competent advice during the accident investigation process to ensure all relevant information is captured in a timely manner and the correct remedial action has been implemented to stop recurrence.
- Assisting the SHE manager in driving the site plan to reach overall aim and objectives for the relevant time periods. Further support the management team in ensuring actions plans are developed, implemented, and maintained to achieve overall compliance.
- Ensuring a multi discipline management team complete risk assessments to the required standard by an agreed date. To offer competent advice and support to the assessment teams to identify risks and implement solutions to issues raised.
- Supporting the learning and development department to ensure the right standard of training is delivered to the workforce. Identify any gaps within the training process and support the implementation of remedial actions
- Managing the site internal audit and inspection schedule and to ensure they are completed on time and support management in closing out actions within the relevant time scales. Support the SHE manager with any external audits from government authorities or Bakkavor group.
- Being proactive and visible ensuring that any health and safety or environmental matters are addressed or escalated as appropriate in a timely and effective manner. To also communicate SHE performance to the business by various mediums/methods to ensure awareness and highlight any areas of focus.
- Operating in a safe working manner and support the site/business on continuous improvement relating to health, safety, and the environment.
- Collating and distributing the core KPIs to both internal and external parties. To trend KPI data and implement remedial actions if required to do so.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will need to:

- Logically analyse, collate and process standard safety and environmental information in a structured manner, drawing conclusions that enable the right decisions to be reached. Able to assess and evaluate risk.
- Challenge and influence others to achieve desired safety results/performance for the business. Able to work effectively as part of the Team.
- Plan and prioritise workload according to the demands of the department and overall business.
- Possess strong computer skills in Word, Power point and Excel
- Previous experience of administrating the SHE CARE system would be an advantage
- Hold a NEBOSH General certificate
