Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel, a striking Grade II listed iconic building in the vibrant Spinningfields District, offers 148 stylish hotel rooms and suites with modern amenities. The V&A is the home to Chop & Plant our casual drinking and dining destination, offering a blend of Chop House classics and plant-based dishes with a focus on local produce and sustainability. We have flexible event spaces, including outdoor terrace, small boardrooms and banqueting for up to 200 people.

**Work Placement 2024**

Build upon your classroom studies through our Hotel Work Placement opportunities. You will learn first-hand about a hotel's operations. Our Hotel Work Placement Program allows you to truly experience the industry from the ground up, where our founders and many of our leaders began. As a Food and Beverage Supervisor in Training, you’ll learn from some of the best in the industry; people who have walked these corridors for a great many years. **The Work Placement Summary**

Breakfast, lunch or dinner, the best meals aren’t just made by our brilliant chefs. They’re made even more memorable by the great service our guests enjoy. As our Food & Beverage Supervisor in Training, you’ll learn how to lead the team in our Chop & Plant Restaurant, you’ll make sure you and the team know every dish on the menu, so you can make recommendations and answer any questions guests may have. You’ll make sure their food and drinks are served quickly, efficiently and with a smile - and if there are any issues, you’ll deal with them right away. Thanks to you, our guests will feel well-fed, happy and want to come back for more.

**What you’ll be trained to do**
- Work as part of the Food and Beverage operations team
- Daily briefings, target setting and feedback analysis
- Knowledgeable about all food and beverage items that are offered in the restaurant and bar.
- Complete stock inventories on a regular basis and order stock as required.
- Support with training and developing the team.
- Ensuring checklists are in place and are followed to standard
- Identify, develop and introduce ways to upsell and increase revenue within the department.
- Complete opening and closing duties, to ensure the restaurant is ready for service
- Attend daily, weekly, monthly meetings to support operational targets
- Lead and supervise shifts with a seamless approach
- To ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, company standards and external regulations including department checklists, beverage presentation and the brand standard audit.
