Head of Transport

Together with a Local Authority in the Northwest, Panoramic is currently on the search for a **Head of Transport** to develop and deliver the transport strategy for the Council. Successfully implementing the councils net zero ambitions to ensure HS2 supports the community.
This is a transformational role, if successful you will be leading, developing, and managing a team of approximately 50 staff, setting the pace for change and delivery of the councils' ambitious transport agenda.
The post holder will prioritise customer focussed delivery for the community, have an impact on delivering all council objectives for a more prosperous society.

Key Deliverables:
- Lead and manage our programme for change and innovation, driving cultural change to transform service delivery, improve customer experience, improve organisational effectiveness, and embed corporate values across the workforce.
- Provide strong, senior leadership to a wide-ranging team. Manage and monitor staff performance, ensuring staff are clear on the Council's priorities and how they can contribute to the achievement of those priorities. Develop and maintain a collaborative andprogressive working relationship with the Head of Highways who you will work with closely in addition to other Heads of Roles.
- External/internal communication and engagement: acting as one of the key council spokespeople on transport, consult and engage with elected MP's, Members, Government Officials, and other external stakeholders to ensure effective response to the needs of localcommunities and other stakeholder sectors. In addition, work collaboratively across your team, highways, and regeneration to ensure an accessible network.
- Monitor, manage, and review financial and business performance, in line with annual targets and Business plans to ensure that targets for savings and income generation are met, resources are well monitored and controlled and are developed to the best possibleeffect.
- You will provide strong performance management of the Transport Service by owning and developing service planning, robust financial and budget management, and performance measurement, thereby ensuring continuous improvement, value for money and best valueare delivered.
A degree level qualification, evidence of continuous professional development, an operational knowledge of local bus provision, strategic rail and active travel schemes are essential for this post.
