Trade Counter Assistant

We are one of a few family-owned, independent builders merchants in the Lancashire area. We supply a vast range of building and timber materials to the trade and DIY market. We pride ourselves on our friendly service and knowledge in the industry.

**Trade Counter Assistant Role**

We are seeking a Sales Assistant to join our expanding staff team. You will need to be a positive, friendly face and voice that greets our customers, new and returning.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Serving our customers at the sales counter
- Advising customers on products to meet their needs
- Providing excellent customer service in a polite and professional manner
- Building relationships with new and existing customers
- Manage stock levels in the store; keep the shop floor well stocked, clean, and tidy
- Ensure the shop floor is a safe and secure environment for customers and staff

**Requirements and Skills**

- Basic understanding of computers

**Experience**

Basic knowledge of building materials would be advantageous. If you do not have knowledge of building materials, then experience within our yard to learn about the products would be needed.

Previous experience in the trade or construction industry would be an advantage.

Experience in trade counter sales would be beneficial.

**Hours**

Monday - Friday: 7:30am - 5:00pm with a 1hr lunch break

Saturday mornings on rota: 7:00am - 12:00pm

**Wage**

£25,000 - £26,800 a year

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£26,000.00 per year

- ACCRINGTON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Retail sales: 1 year (preferred)
