Working for a company providing cost effective and sustainable food waste recycling service for local authorities and commercial organisations.
Purpose of the role:

- Receiving food waste, operating mobile plant, and maintaining and operating the process lines.
- Ensure reception, sorting and processing of sufficient feedstock is achieved daily to optimise performance.
- Coordinate and carry out maintenance on equipment
- Supporting in ensuring full compliance within the companys management system
Key Responsibilities:

- Controlling intake, sorting, and processing operations of food waste - Supervising movements, offloading, cleaning, and departure of waste carrying vehicles on site
- Coordinate the processing lines to ensure maximum throughput and minimum downtime without compromising health, safety, and environmental standards
- Ensuring all deliveries are unloaded safely and report troublesome or rejected loads to the site manager - Provide useful feedback to assist reporting issues to the commercial team
- Monitor and report on the throughput rates of all processing lines. Highlighting any deterioration in performance
- Ensure daily plant checks are effectively carried out and remedial action is taken promptly.
- Ensuring a safe, prompt, and effective repair of any breakdown on equipment
- Performing minor breakdown maintenance and repairs as and when required to ensure minimum downtime of plant and equipment.
Key Skills and Knowledge:

- Recognised qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering
- Processing and people management skills
- Ability to operate a forklift truck and obtain a forklift licence.
- Safety conscious and aware of environmental impacts
- Ability to adapt plans to changing circumstances
- To be able to carry out hard physical and dirty work
- Good team player but happy to work on own.
- WAMITAB - Certificate of Technical Competence preferable
- Qualification and/or experience in material handling, confined spaces, working at heights, first aid and banksman duties preferable.
- Full driving licence preferable.
