The Care Home Interiors Company is a multi-award-winning, family run business, offering an exceptional design and installation service based in Medstead, Hampshire. We handmake bespoke curtains, furniture and dressing items for the Care Home sector which we then install in care homes around the UK, we are much respected in the industry. You’d be part of friendly, dynamic and closeknit team who take care and pride in the items that are made and installed.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Interior Designer to learn the skills in this niche field of Care Home Design. On the job training and support will be given and following this, in time, the aim would be to promote to the role of Interior Designer within the company.

**Required**:

- Excellent attention to detail and highly organised
- Willingness to be flexible with a ‘can-do’ attitude. Proactive rather than reactive.
- Genuine interest and excitement in all areas of design, fabrics, colours, furniture, fashions
- Flexible and able to work overtime when workload requires
- Strong team player and ability to work well with others
- Driving license preferred (though not essential)

**Key duties**:

- Provide general support and back-up to the Lead Designer and Design Team
- Ordering and collating samples of fabrics and wallpapers
- With guidance, assist in the preparation of scheme designs
- Participate in customer meetings, taking meticulous notes in order that relevant changes are made to schemes as per customer requirements
- Assist in researching and collating appropriate and ‘fit-for-purpose’ finishes, whilst paying attention to cost
- Ensure Design Scheme packs are ready for client presentations with all samples present
- Organise and keep current a vast stock of sample books and ensure the Design Room is kept tidy and ready for client and supplier visits
- Help with Care Home installations (country wide in the UK) when needed, this may involve long days and over night stays
- Participate in supplier meetings to gain knowledge and view new fabrics/papers and products

**Hours**: 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to midday (half day)

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
