Outwood Academy Normanby, Middlesbrough, has an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and inspiring History specialist with exceptional communication and management skills to lead our dedicated and well-qualified team.

We are seeking a Head of History with the drive, imagination and energy to deliver excellence. At Outwood Academy Normanby all students study both history in years 7, 8 and 9, with all students choosing at least one humanity to study at GCSE.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead our supportive history department, who have developed an exciting, innovative curriculum from Year 7 to Year 9 which builds key historical knowledge, concepts and skills preparing students well for their GCSE studies and life beyond the academy. At GCSE we follow the Edexcel History course studying Medicine c1250 - present, Elizabethan England 1558 - 88, the American West c1835 - c1895 and Germany 1918 - 39.

An excellent knowledge and understanding of history is essential. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘Students First’.
