**The role**

We are currently looking for a Finance Business Partner to work with our freight team partnering with them across the projects and day to day work supporting them through the provision of first class financial and management information. This role will work with the senior leadership team in the freight business unit to grow the business, formulate strategies and execute plans.

You will be considered a part of the leadership team in the finance team as well and so you will be looking at continuous improvement opportunities to help create a culture of efficiencies. You will lead the planning, reporting and business analytics activity for the freight business unit making sure that there are sufficient controls in place to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness and relevance of all information.

You will also provide the guidance for investment decisions, approving or rejecting based on sound analytical interpretations. As part of the leadership within the Sector Strategy Group you will make sure that you are the forefront of developing and implementing sector strategies.

This is a true business partner role and as we move towards a commercially focused organisation this role will be integral to make sure that, not only sound commercial decisions are made, but opportunities for growth are recognised and taken advantage of.

**The person**

So who are we looking for?
- Strong technical and analytical financial background from within a large matrix organisation
- Previous experience of interpreting investment results and post implementation reviews for purposes of benefits realisation
- Experience of delivering commercially strong business cases, balancing cost, risk and future benefit
- Previous experience of partnering and working with senior leaders and board members
- A qualification within an accountancy discipline (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
- Good business change management experience and the ability to work in an organisation going through huge amounts of change.
