**Your new company**
Here at Hays we are approached weekly by schools in the Wigan area looking for supply cover for various KS2 classes on a day to day, short
- and long-term basis. There is always a high demand for supply cover and particularly in KS2, so we're looking for individualswho are confident in teaching this age range and can come in and hit the ground running. We have a mixture of mainstream and SEN schools that we work with so there are positions to suit whatever it is you are looking for. This could be perfect if you onlywant to work part time, if you're new to teaching or if you'd like to take a step back from all the full responsibilities as a full class teacher.
**Your new role**
Supply cover teachers are responsible for covering lessons that are left absent by the class teacher, so in this role you will be using existing lessons plans left for the class and making sure these are carried out to a high standard. You will need to ensurepupils are still fully engaged with the learning and be adaptable when required. You should be able to build relationships quickly and hold strong behaviour management skills. This is a great role to broaden your experience working in various schools and yeargroups and to expand your knowledge.
**What you'll need to succeed**
In order to be a successful in securing this position, hold qualified teacher status (QTS) gained in the UK. You should be enthusiastic, approachable and be able to hit the ground running. Good knowledge of KS2 curriculum is preferred however t his could bea perfect role for an NQT/ECT that is looking to gain some experience working within the primary school environment.
