**The Role**:
The Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust pharmacy department has approximately 130 members of staff who provide pharmacy services across three main sites (Stoke Mandeville, Wycombe and Amersham) and four community sites.

The Blood Sciences Department analyses some 2500 samples / 25000 tests per day, producing accurate, reliable results in a timely fashion for clinical diagnosis and patient welfare. Service is provided to all Hospital Wards (Stoke Mandeville, Wycombe and Amersham) and departments, GPs, Clinics and Private Hospitals.

The post holder will:

- Undertake with supervision, the receipt and preparation of laboratory samples for analysis. They will work as a supervised member of the central sample reception team.
- Simple analysis of samples and operate or load expensive and complex laboratory equipment under supervision in one of three sections of Biochemistry, Haematology and Immunology.
- Storage and dispatch of patient reports
- Will enter patient data and results onto the laboratory computer system.
- Prepare, store and use reagents and consumables in a manner suitable for patient investigations, being aware of COSHH

**Skills/Responsibilities**:

- Foundation Degree in Healthcare Science or Biomedical Science BSc
- Experience working in a UK laboratory.
- Basic IT experience.
- Ability to work under demanding circumstances and to deadlines.
- Effective communication and telephone skills
- Methodical accurate working
- Good time management

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of
- Relevant Qualifications
- Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable
