**Nursery Assistant | Cheshire**

**Are you looking to get into a diverse role in horticulture?**

**About The Role**

We are looking for a committed, hardworking individual to join our Nursery team.

In this role, you will be assisting in the management of crop growing for our retail outlet, you will be required to carry out a variety of responsibilities such as, potting on, weeding, watering, feeding, and ensuring the growing nursery is kept tidy and clean. This role is a full-time position 40 hours, which may include a weekend day.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Discuss plant growing activities with Head Grower that are consistent with planned production schedules
- Monitor growing conditions and discuss any changes within batches to head grower.
- Responsible for identifying crop issues and diagnosis of unknown health or damage problems
- Responsible for ensuring crops are watered efficiently and crops remain weed free.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to get into a busy role in horticulture. You will be confident in communication and be comfortable working in a small team. You will have a genuine interest in horticulture and are physically fit, enjoys manual work and being outdoors.

**Key skills required**
- Must have a keen interest in horticulture and enjoy being outdoors.
- Ability to communicate clearly with employees & management.
- Knowledge and understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the horticulture environment
- Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated reliability, dependability, and flexibility in work habits
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands;
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, reach with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling & crouching.

Premier Plants of Ledsham is a three generational family run Plant Centre which offers a unique plant shopping experience. A major difference to why we differ to your average garden centre is due to the vast majority of our plant stock being grown by our own nursery, Sutton’s Nurseries. Our sister company Sutton’s Nurseries has been supplying Garden Centres across the UK with quality hardy nursery stock for over 30 years. We are a friendly and close-knit team of people and look forward to growing our team with similar like-minded individuals.
