Qualitair is recruiting a Head of Office of Airworthiness & Compliance Verification Engineer to join one of our Clients on a permanent basis in sunny Malta

Duties and responsibilities (Head of Office of Airworthiness):

- Ensuring that the DO Handbook is prepared and kept updated as required in Part 21 Regulations.
- Co-operation with the EASA in proposing the type certificate basis.
- Preparation of Type Investigation Programme and co-ordination of all tasks related to the Type Investigation in concurrence with the EASA.
- Regular reporting to the EASA about Type Investigation progress and announcement of scheduled tests in due time.
- Ensuring co-operation in preparing inspection and test programmes needed for demonstration of compliance.
- Checking that all compliance documents are prepared necessary to demonstrate compliance with all CS and environmental protection requirements, as well as for completeness, and signing for release of the documents.
- Checking the required type design definition documents described in Part 21 Regulations and ensuring that they are provided to EASA for approval when required.
- Providing verification to the Head of Design Organisation that all activities required for the Type Investigation have been properly completed.
- Approving classification of changes in accordance with Part 21 Regulations
- Monitoring of significant events on other aeronautical products is as far as relevant to determine their effect on airworthiness of products being designed by the Design Organisation.
- To ensure that the design of the products, parts and appliances or the design thereof, comply with the applicable type certification basis, the applicable operational suitability data certification basis and environmental protection requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities (Compliance Verification engineer - CVE):

- Lead compliance verification activities related to design modifications by conducting the verification that compliance has been demonstrated with the applicable type certification basis, the applicable operational suitability data certification basis andthe environmental protection requirements.
- Independently check and verify the completeness and technical accuracy of design and certification data - including but not limited to technical and compliance reports, test programmes, accomplishment instructions and Service Bulletins.
- Participate in aircraft design reviews with the Head of Design and other Compliance Verification Engineer(s).
- Develop engineering design and substantiation documentations related to cabin-safety/interiors/structures related modifications
- Liaise with customers, operators, suppliers and manufacturers to identify optimal solutions for aircraft modification design projects.

**Requirements**:

- Previous work experience as Head of Office of Airworthiness within an EASA Part 21 Subpart J Design Organisation in the field of Cabin Safety is essential.
- Minimum 5 years work experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer within an EASA Part 21 Subpart J Design Organisation in the field of Cabin Safety is essential.
- Previous work experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer in the field of Structures (even limited to cabin interiors) will be considered an asset.
- Able to demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including CS-23/25/26.
- Excellent problem-solving skills - ability to analyse data accurately and objectively
- Highly Proficient in written and spoken English
- Ability to engage and communicate with various stakeholders clearly and effectively
- Ability to train and provide guidance to less experienced engineers in the D.O
- Ability to work under pressure, effectively and efficiently, with mínimal supervision
- This position is fully based in Malta.
