Senior Practice Bookkeeper

**Location: UB9, Harefield and an opportunity to work from home.**
**About the company**
Our client is a rapidly growing Practice providing bookkeeping, VAT, Payroll, Tax, Accounts and Management Accounts services that have provided an excellent service to a varied client base For many years.

They are looking for a strong bookkeeper with Xero and Sage knowledge to join their team.
**The Role**
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Planning and review of Bookkeeping, VAT Returns & Management Accounts prepared by others and provide feedback for corrections (this will be a core part of the role).
- Preparation and submission of VAT Returns
- Period end adjustments and preparation of Management Accounts
- Training of clients on how to maintain their own books and records using online bookkeeping systems like XERO and SAGE
- Communicating with clients to resolve bookkeeping and VAT queries and have meaningful conversations with clients about their Management Accounts.
**Key knowledge**:

- Ability to review the VAT Returns and Management Accounts prepared by others, and provide feedback for corrections (this will be a core part of your role).
- Strong working knowledge of double entry accounting (this is extremely important-we go far beyond the 'dataprocessing’, and a short test on double-entry accounting and analytical review will be given at interview).
- Good understanding of VAT rules and regulations.
- Good working knowledge of accounting packages Xero and SAGE
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Ability to develop accounting and business systems.
- Fully I.T literate.
**Key experience**:

- Have at least 5 years relevant work experience.
- Must have worked in a practice environment

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal-there will be a written test at interview.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Have a 'cando’ attitude.
