Associate Respiratory Physiologist

An exciting opportuinity has arisen for a suitably qualified and AHCS/RCCP registered associate respiratory physiologist to join the respiratory lab here at the Aintree site at LUFT.
The post will involved participating in full study work lists, as well as performing spirometry and reversibility testing at various locations throughout North Merseyside.
The job is quite fast paced within a friendly and supportive team, with significant chance of advancement via the labs PTP training scheme.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the Senior Respiratory Physiologist, Respiratory Consultants, specialist nurses and practitioners across the specialty and Trust as a whole.
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.
The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

CLINICAL
1 Actively participate in a range of clinical physiology service provision either in performing direct duties or supervised if required.
2 Works independently on direct patient care within departmental and national guidelines
3 Performance of spirometry in unsupervised areas.
4 Assists within CPET area with set up and exercise test.
5 Is required to perform reversibility testing unsupervised..
6 Uses the Respiratory Lab sterilisationand cleaning SOP.
7 Under direct supervision assists with the airway challenges.
8 BLS Trained
9 Performs unsupervised full studies.
10 Works on shift system and unsocial hours as necessary
11 Lead, teach organise the ATO’s in the department and supervise their performance and shifts. 12 Contribute to the evaluation, selection and introduction of new equipment and technology.
13 Assists in the ordering/stock control and receipt of consumable items used in clinical physiology
14 Responsible for the safe use of respiratory function equipment
15 Liaise with Senior Clinical Physiologist to maintain appropriate level of resources
16 Recognise and confirm accuracy of reported equipment faults and ensure details are documented and appropriate steps taken for their correction.
17 Ensure clean and tidy procedure environments are maintained.
18 Assist as appropriate in the motivation of staff to ensure completion of individual and overall workloads.
19 Assist with maintenance of local risk management policies.
21 Comply with Trust and local policies.
