Our client is going through a period of growth and they are looking for Yard Support Assistants to join their incredibly busy team Salary £22,672 rising to £24,000 after successful 6 month probationary period.

**About you**:

- Do you have a counterbalance F/L licence? (not essential as training will be given)
- Do you have scaffold experience? (not essential)
- Do you have your own transport - this is essential for this role due to lack to public transport

**Role**:
Maintain and keep a clean, safe yard with all risks minimised and report any areas of concern to the operations management team verbally and via the Near Miss and Damages procedures. Hours of work are 7.30am - 4pm Monday to Friday.
- Actively promote and enforce Health and Safety at work.
- Work with & assist operations personnel to check and maintain stock levels.
- Be part of the service, inspection and maintenance of all equipment.
- Carry out any activity that fits within the role as instructed by line management.
- Prepare equipment for jobs as requested.
- Pick equipment according to the load lists.
- Opening and closing of curtain sided vehicles.
- Using ratchet straps to secure loads to trailers and kit to stillages.
- Responsible for strapping trailers to VOSA requirements.

**Admin Duties**

Ensure yard procedure of truck labelling is adhered to. Completing forms for the following:

- Near misses.
- Accident reporting.
- Damage reporting.
- Load lists.
- Items not returned from site.
- Stock shortages and consumables required.

**Health & Safety**
- Develop and maintain an awareness of Health & Safety documents relating to your role.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
- Undertake duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the organisation’s Health & Safety policy and procedures.
- Co-operate with policies and procedures to enable the organisation to comply with its obligation under Health & Safety legislation.
- Report immediately any defects in equipment or the working environment and report areas of risk.
