**The Home**

Carlingford Lodge Care Home is a registered nursing home which provides nursing care for up to 58 patients. Patients are accommodated over two floors. Patients with dementia are cared for on the lower ground floor and patients requiring general nursing care are cared for on the ground floor. Patients have access to communal lounges, dining areas and outside space.

**The Role**

You will assist with the provision of a catering service within the home with particular emphasis on the planning, preparing, cooking and serving of meals, ensuring all activities and operations comply with operational standards and statutory regulations.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Effective and efficient planning, preparation, and delivery of all aspects of food preparation and cooking
- Ensuring operational standards comply
- Assist with monitoring the home’s catering budget
- Assist with developing and creating varied and interesting menus
- Ensure that stock ordering and rotation is organised in an efficient and cost-effective manner

**You will need**:

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Hold a basic Food Safety certificate.
- Have at least 2 years’ experience in a food preparation/ kitchen environment.
- Understand the dietary needs, nutritional and religious requirements of the elderly.
- Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Have basic knowledge of HACCP, COSHH and Health and Safety.
- Have experience gained in a care home or healthcare environment (desirable).
