**Head of Warehousing**

New role to Oak Furnitureland - Head of Warehousing - This senior leadership role will be pivotal in the further development of our logistics division, establishing a highly productive, customer centric operation.

**Role Purpose**

The Head of Warehousing will lead our in-house warehouse operation at our flagship site in Swindon. Effectively managing the receipt through to despatch of 1.5 million cases per year, to our network of 14 Depots across the UK.

As Head of Warehousing, you’ll be a highly experienced and ‘hands on’ individual with a proven track record in leading, motivating and developing operational management teams. Instilling a ‘right first time’ mentality and championing a continuous improvement culture, which positively and significantly impacts the performance of both the people and the organisation.

The Head of Warehousing manages operational budgets and KPI’s, with autonomy to develop effective resource plans, ensuring cost, productivity and service targets are delivered. Acting as an exceptional brand ambassador, the Head of Warehousing will help shape, evaluate and plan short, medium and long term operational and strategic objectives.

**Salary**: £75,000 to £90,000 total package (depending on experience)

**Location**: Swindon

**Core Responsibilities**
- Provide leadership, motivation, and development to the operations management team
- Proactively challenge and support the warehouse operation to consistently achieve excellence
- Propose and enable strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures across the logistics operation
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Build long term relationships with stakeholders across the businesses
- Ensure all company Health and Safety policies are adhered to
- Promoting Oak Furniture Land as an employer of choice

**Skills & Knowledge**
- Proven experience in managing large scale warehouse operations c400 employees
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Strong leadership skills with background demonstrating high level communication with key stakeholders
- Demonstrable ability to manage sizable multimillion £ cost budgets
- Proven ability to identify, evaluate and implement operational improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
