**Peabody**has an exciting opportunity for a **Head of Public Affairs**on a **full-time, permanent** **basis**based in **South East London. **In return, you will receive a competitive salary of **£65,000 - £70,000per annum.**

**About the Head of Head of Public Affairs role**:
As our Head of Public Affairs, you will support the Regional Managing Directors in building and maintaining local stakeholder relationships by developing stakeholder engagement and public affairs plans. This includes Mapping and prioritising local stakeholders,developing political engagement plans and supporting MDs and development teams through briefing and insight. You will monitor the local political environment identifying potential issues and opportunities and develop plans to address these.

**What we're looking for in our Head of Public Affairs**:

- Demonstrable Public Affairs and Policy experience at a senior level in a complex organisation

- Excellent knowledge of parliamentary business and housing external environment

The ability to grasp policy quickly and translate complex messages to a range of audiences
- Experience in briefing at Executive and senior leadership level

**What you can expect to be doing as our Head of Public Affairs**:

- Identifying opportunities to influence policy on behalf of our customers and proactively develop political engagement, research and influencing programmes working closely with the AD Corporate Affairs and Head of External Affairs
- Supporting our development programme by providing strategic counsel to the team on political issues, particularly with regards to planning and regeneration ensuring stakeholder engagement programmes are in place aligned with the regional approach
- Identifying monitor and analysing policy and regulatory issues, providing insight and briefings to the leadership team
- Working with the senior team to develop Peabody’s policy positions, leading on consultation responses and developing briefings on our positioning and messaging
- Providing counsel to senior management on policy and public affairs and supporting senior business leaders in their political engagement through briefing and coaching
- Developing regular reporting on public affairs and policy progress, highlighting trends, potential issues and successes, using data to refine and adapt the approach
- Developing Peabody’s approach to party conferences, developing recommendations for activity and supporting C-suite and board members who attend
