Position: Sports Graduate and Boarding Assistant

**Salary**: £16,000 per annum (term time only). Full-board annual accommodation would be provided and all school meals (term time only)

**Job Summary**:
As a Sports Graduate and Boarding Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the sports department and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the boarding facility. This position is primarily focused on providing sports coaching and coordinating sporting activities while also overseeing the well-being and safety of boarding students during term time.

**Responsibilities**:
Plan, organize, and deliver sports coaching sessions for students across various age groups and skill levels.

Provide individualized training and guidance to help students develop their sports skills and improve performance.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing appropriate strategies for improvement.

Coordinate and assist in organizing inter-school sports events, matches, and tournaments.

**Boarding Assistance**:
Support the boarding team in ensuring the welfare and safety of boarding students.

Assist with daily routines, including wake-up and bedtime procedures, meal times, and supervision during recreational activities.

Help maintain a positive and inclusive boarding environment, fostering a sense of community and supporting students' personal development.

Uphold and enforce boarding policies, ensuring students adhere to rules and regulations.

**Administrative Tasks**:
Maintain accurate records of student participation, attendance, and progress in sports activities.

Assist with the organization and management of sports equipment, ensuring it is in good condition and readily available.

Collaborate with the sports department in coordinating fixtures, scheduling practices, and managing sports facilities.

Provide administrative support to the boarding team, including updating student records, managing communications, and coordinating events.

**Health and Safety**:
Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times, promptly addressing any concerns or incidents.

Implement and enforce health and safety protocols within the sports department and boarding facility.

Assist in conducting risk assessments and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks during sports activities and boarding routines.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
A degree or equivalent qualification in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.

We would consider gap year students.

Experience in coaching and leading sports activities, preferably in an educational or youth setting.

Good knowledge of a range of sports and the ability to coach and develop skills in different disciplines.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff members.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

A positive attitude, enthusiasm for working with young people, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.

First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Safeguarding training or willingness to undergo training.
