Our Bakkavor business in Bo’ness, based near Falkirk, specialises in the production of fresh, high quality salad products working primarily with premium retailers. To give you a sense for the scale of manufacturing in Bo’ness we produce over 70million salad based meals and side dishes from our 2 manufacturing facilities employing over 1200 people in the town.

**The Role**

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join us at Bo’ness site working in one of our salads production sites. Reporting in to one of our Section Managers, you will manage, organise and control effective some of our frontline production teams working on specific parts of the process, potentially working across raw material prep, processing and packaging of the finished product.

In this busy and hands-on role, you will pro-actively manage and motivate a team of production staff and ensure that the highest levels of health and safety are met at all times whilst your team meet the quality standard Bakkavor and our clients expect.

As Section Leader, you will have line management responsibility for your section which will include training and developing your section as well as performance management including first level disciplinaries and absence management.

**Duties include**:

- Encourage a safe working environment for all employees in their area by supporting and enforcing standards as set out in the Group Health and Safety policy
- Ensure team are performing to quality standards in terms of GMP, food safety, product - quality and presentation and housekeeping
- Manage performance and attendance of the team including first level formal written disciplinary action, performance review, absence management (including return to work procedures)
- Manage improvement activities including KPIs, waste management and production control processes and associated administration and record keeping
- Ensure that their team are correctly deployed and are performing to standards in adherence to the plan. Manage breaks and the shift changeover process to ensure it does not disrupt productivity and workflow
- Communication - undertake team briefs on a daily basis that focus on key performance measures aligned to local productivity and performance and to wider business issues. Conduct structured SIC reviews in accordance with Red Zone meeting protocols & guidance.
- Recruitment - in conjunction with HR participate in staff recruitment & induction process & ensure new recruits receive the appropriate care, attention & engagement especially during the early stages of employment.
- Administration - Carry out necessary administrative tasks & produce data/ reports as required including OEE, T&A, holiday management & any other relevant data.

**About you**:

- To be successful in this role you will need to be a positive and motivated team player that possesses strong leadership skills. The role requires you to pay attention to detail. Ideally you will have previous experience working within food manufacturing in a leadership role.
- Strong people management and development skills, with the ability to lead by example with the highest level of attendance and timekeeping
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and to work in a fast paced and highly pressurized environment
- Good computer skills with app based performance monitoring systems
- Familiarity with food manufacturing environments
