We currently have exciting vacancy for a Travel Trade & Tourism Assistant to join our team.

**The Role**

As Travel Trade & Tourism Assistant, you will help ensure that Chester Zoo can provide an exceptional customer journey, with personalised service. Reporting to the Travel Trade & Tourism Officer, you will process Chester Zoo’s group booking, CTO and ticket agent business, creating new and nurturing existing relationships to drive revenue via multiple channels including online groups bookings, Coach Tour Operators and Ticket Agents.

**The role will include:
- Responsibility for processing Chester Zoo’s travel trade and tourism bookings, including customer enquiries, payments / invoicing and producing tickets / arrival packs
- Maintaining the Travel Trade contacts in our CRM and assisting in Marketing plans and strategic customer communications.
- Creating new and nurturing existing relationships to drive revenue via multiple channels including online groups bookings, Coach Tour Operators and Ticket Agents,
- Support the Travel Trade & Tourism Officer in in liaising B2B partners, agents and other third parties to develop new products, maximise admissions revenue and build Chester Zoo’s profile nationally and internationally.
- Invoicing and reporting as well as assisting the Travel Trade & Tourism Officer in undertaking these tasks with our B2B Partners.
- Assist in delivering regular marketing campaigns
- Plan and host fam trips as part of the business development process and represent Chester Zoo at external events and conferences

**The Package**
- Permanent contract
- 40 hours per week
- Salary £25,371.61 rising to £26,702.81 from 1 April (Grade 6)
- 33 days annual leave (per annum and pro-rata based on actual hours worked)

- Business Development experience, attending networking events and tradeshows.
- Ability to quickly establish credibility and represent the department and Society.
- Experience of creating and maintaining key corporate relationships and providing personalised customer service.
- Excellent written communication style and copy writing skills.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office software, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Extensive use of booking and CRM systems.
- Presentation and report writing skills.
- Able to interpret budgets both for income and expenditure, and to provide analysis of sales performance.
- Management of comprehensive administrative systems with knowledge and experience of data protection protocols and debt collection
