As the Accounts Assistant you will be assisting the Company Accountant, reporting to the Finance Director, as well as supporting the Managing Director on a day-to-day basis.
This role will be assisting with the data entry, reconciliation and book keeping functions within the Accounting Department. As well as getting involved in and supporting the Team with various other projects when required. The role also heavily involves supporting the accounting departments of our group offices worldwide.
**Accounts Assistant’s Responsibilities**
1. Handling supplier invoices; inputting, chasing authorisation, logging and reconciling.
2. Daily Bank posting and reconciliations.
3. Subsidiary Sage accounting - Sales Ledger, Purchases Ledger, nominal journals, bank and petty cash accounting
4. Sales receipt reporting
5. Invoice discounting batch uploads and analysis.
6. Credit card input analysis and reporting.
7. Electronic Credit card return’s exception reporting for incorrect input, coding and narratives, escalation when required to the Finance Director.
8. Timesheet processing and job costing
9. Analysis of electronic timesheet returns and project/job costing.
10. Timesheet exception reporting for incorrect input, coding and narratives, escalation when required to the Finance Director.
11. Purchase Order Matrix auditing on monthly basis, with non-compliance reporting.
12. Filing historical records and retrieving necessary documents as required
13. Processing journals
14. Nominal ledger postings
15. Inputting expense claims
16. Fixed asset tagging and reporting
17. Report running and analysis reporting
18. Providing administrative and clerical support as needed
19. Additional bookkeeping duties as designated by the Management
20. Assisting in Statutory and other audits
21. Other tasks required that are appropriate to the role
The role requires good book keeping knowledge, with an eye for accuracy. A sound knowledge of both Excel and Sage accounting software are also required.
The applicant should be AAT qualified and have experience in a day to day book-keeping role.
**Salary**: From £26,000.00 per year
