As Hot Food / Deli Counter Assistant you will work as part of the deli team to prepare high quality hot and cold deli products in our store..

We have flexible opportunities for staff to work 16 - 40 hours per week. (Monday to Sunday),Hours are from 7am to 3/4pm. Applicants must be 18 years or over.

Your duties will include:

- Assisting in preparing and cooking nutritious, interesting and fresh food.
- Complete production, wastage, temperature and cleaning records
- Assist in placing food orders and manage effective stock movement.
- Stock and rotate deli products to ensure freshness
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness at all times adhering to the stores daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule.
- Greet and serve customers, advise of available offerings and maintain the standards of the deli counters
- Assist in preparing the counter to serve customer in a fast paced environment.
- Wrap/package goods for the customer, ensuring the appropriate price is attached for payment at the till area.
- Prepare and assemble sandwiches, salads, and other deli items according to customer orders
- Cleaning duties following our Clean As You Go procedure and daily/weekly store cleaning plan
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area
- Slice meats using deli slicer
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their deli orders
- Up sell additional items or specials to customers

- Previous experience in food preparation, preferably in a deli or kitchen setting(preferred but not essential)
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Strong communication, Good team working and Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously -High standard of cleanliness and Hygiene Certificate (preferred but not essential)
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
