Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry

Applications are invited from dynamic and enthusiastic individuals for this exciting 10 session General Adult Psychiatry Consultant post based at Shawpark Resource Centre and Gartnavel Royal hospital.
The successful applicant will form an important and integral part of a multidisciplinary team providing a general adult service to adults aged between 18 and 65 years. This post is based at Shawpark Resource Centre in Maryhill and the associated inpatient beds are based at Gartnavel Royal.
The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with colleagues to provide a full range of services to the local population suffering from psychiatric illness. Excellent communication skills are essential.
The post is linked to active teaching programmes and continuing professional development, audit and research are encouraged and supported.
The post is offered on a full time basis. Out of Hours on call responsibilities will be shared with other consultant colleagues on an approximately 1:25 rota.
Applicants must have MRCPsych or equivalent.
Shawpark Resource Centre is based in Maryhill in the popular West end of Glasgow. There are transport links within walking distance of the resource centre.
All newly qualified Consultants are initially offered a minimum of 1 Core Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) which includes CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, revalidation, job planning and management meetings. This will be reviewed within 6 months (or earlier if required) of appointment and revised upwards if additional responsibilities are agreed.
