Apprentice: Clinical Associate Psychologist

**Job Purpose**:
1. To undertake the 18 month CAP apprenticeship programme, encompassing work based practice and learning with academic teaching and
study
2. To work as a semi-autonomous psychological practitioner under the direct supervision of an experienced and HCPC registered Clinical
Psychologist
3. To provide effective evidence-based care in line with National and Local guidelines
4. To manage a caseload and be responsible for proactive care delivery decisions - within the scope of practice and under the supervision of a
HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist
5. With training, to plan, assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care.

Principal

**Responsibilities**:
1. To undertake a range of clinical activities including psychological assessments, treatments and other types of clinical intervention with
individual service users, carers, families, groups etc; along with other activities such as staff training; research and development activity.
by a registered practitioner psychologist in accordance with British Psychological Society (BPS) guidelines.
3. CAPs adhere to NHS values and legal & ethical responsibilities as a supervised psychological practitioner along with professional (BPS)
standards of conduct, performance and ethics, including patient consent and confidentiality.
4. To undertake and meet the requirements of a degree apprenticeship including personal study, academic work, research, clinical experience and assessment leading to the award of a Masters Clinical Associate in Psychology.
