Manchester, United Kingdom Heineken Full time

**Quality Assurance Specialist**

**Function**: Supply Chain
**Location**: Manchester
**Salary**: £35,000 - 40,000
**Contract**: Permanent
**Closing date**: 20th January 2023

**Why Manchester?**

There has never been a more exciting time to join our Manchester Brewery. We are firmly planted in the community thanks to a number of investments in the site over the past few years, totalling more than £70 Million. Our brewery remains a pivotal part of our UK supply chain network, producing around five million hectolitres per year of Foster’s, Birra Moretti, Red Stripe, Kronenbourg 1664 and Heineken®. We’re delighted to have been given the quality seal of approval from our Amsterdam Head Office to brew Heineken on our site - and as a bonus, we’re making our carbon footprint smaller in the process.

**About the role**

As the Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be the quality generalist who has a broad awareness of food safety and quality processes associated with the Brewing industry. You will lead the development of the systems required to continuously deliver the brewery KPI’s and improvement activities.

Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you’ll be focused on developing a robust site Quality System infrastructure and its evolution to ensure compliance with the key standards of ISO9001, FSSC 22000, FEMAS and those of Heineken Global. You will lead annual audits, both announced and unannounced, with the respective certification bodies.

You will act as an advisor to the Operations Teams, Technologists and Laboratory teams on all compliance matters; you’ll have the experience to prevent food safety and quality issues by validating and verifying the effectiveness of the quality assurance and control mechanisms. This will include the preparation and delivery of an effective internal audit programme.

Other key areas are management of the pest control and C&D (cleaning and disinfection) supplier contracts and liaison with service representatives to drive continuous improvement.

**Who we’re looking for**
If you like have a keen eye for detail, like a challenge and to work collaboratively across different departments then this may be the role for you

We’re looking for a credible leader who is confident in influencing and coaching in relation to food safety topics.
- Experience of working in a Brewing or Food Manufacturing quality function
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarisation with Quality Management Systems and the ability to develop compliant procedures and processes
- Ability to manage stakeholders effectively (internal and external) to deliver food safety and quality objectives
- Strong administrative skills and accurate document control
- Familiar with laboratory management systems
- Strong IT skills

We embrace learning and growth and we anticipate there is scope to develop in this role. You’re also likely to bring experiences to this role that are not listed above - as long as you have a thirst for learning and development, not every box needs to be ticked when it comes to skillsets.

**Life at HEINEKEN**

We’re building a future that embraces innovation, sustainability, diversity and, of course, the opportunity for our 2,400 UK colleagues to make the most of their careers.

We encourage all our colleagues to grow and reach their full potential. We’re also well-aware that successful careers seldom run in a straight line, so if you’re in search of fresh opportunities (including global or cross-functional moves), mentoring or simply want to pick up a new skill, you’ll have access to all the support you need.

Caring for people & the planet is one of our core values and we understand that each of our colleagues’ needs and circumstances are different. This is why we have a smarter working policy in place which includes access to hybrid working, flexible start and finish times and condensed hours, to name a few.

Our colleagues love life at HEINEKEN, and we’re confident you’ll feel the same way - but don’t take our word for it. Search the #LifeAtHEINEKENUK hashtag on LinkedIn to hear from our colleagues about what makes HEINEKEN such a special business to be a part of.
