Role Overview

What you’ll do
- Work in partnership with business functions, acting as a trusted adviser providing professional and practical compliance advice and guidance in order to identify and mitigate regulatory risk within the business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships business managers and ensure formal business engagement by partnering and challenging senior management on their compliance control environment.
- Embed yourself in decision making processes, not as a decision maker, but to enable senior management to make informed decisions that include consideration of regulatory risk and conduct.
- Provide robust and effective challenge and oversight to new propositions, business operations and the resolution of any identified issues to ensure that an appropriately controlled and customer centric approach is taken. Escalate issues as appropriate.
- Provide an ‘insurance wide’ and also a ‘UK regulatory entities wide’ compliance view on identified focus areas; in order to drive consistency, where appropriate and high quality compliance across operations. Develop a deep knowledge of business operations to enable effective challenge across all aspects of the regulated entities.
- Facilitate engagement and resolution across business areas; making use of Compliance’s broad oversight to bring together parties to address issues

What you’ll bring
- Significant experience in a FCA regulatory advisory role
- Strong knowledge of the FCA handbook and regulatory expectations
- Strong understanding of, and ability to, identify conduct risks to the business
- Extensive business partnering experience
- Proven ability to generate recommendations which improve business processes and are acceptable to operational management
- Excellent communication both written and oral, and with experience of communicating to staff at all levels within organisation
