Parts and Accessory Fitter

**Job Overview**: The Parts and Accessory Fitter is responsible for installing, modifying, and repairing automotive parts and accessories on a variety of vehicles. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction and vehicle safety.**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Installation**:
- Install parts and accessories on vehicles, including but not limited to GPS systems, stereo systems, lighting equipment, roof racks, tow bars, and other aftermarket products.
- Ensure all installations meet our level of excellence and customer requirements.
- **Inspection and Diagnosis**:
- Inspect vehicles to determine the need for parts and accessories.
- Diagnose issues related to faulty or worn parts and provide recommendations for replacement or repair.
- **Repair and Modification**:
- Repair or replace defective parts and accessories.
- Modify parts and accessories where required to fit specific vehicles as needed, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- **Customer Interaction**:
- Communicate with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
- Provide accurate estimates for installation or repair services.
- Offer expert advice on parts and accessories that best suit the customer's vehicle and usage.
- **Documentation**:
- Maintain detailed records of all installations, repairs, and modifications.
- Document any issues encountered, and solutions implemented during the installation or repair process.
- **Inventory Management**:
- Assist in managing inventory of parts and accessories.
- Ensure the availability of necessary parts and accessories for scheduled installations and repairs.
- **Quality Control**:
- Conduct final inspections of installed parts and accessories to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Perform test runs or checks to verify proper operation of installed components.
- **Safety Compliance**:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- **Training and Development**:
- Stay updated on the latest automotive parts and accessory trends and technologies.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in automotive technology preferred.
- Proven experience as a parts and accessory fitter or similar role in the automotive industry.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of vehicle mechanics and electrical systems.
- Ability to use specialized tools and equipment for installation and repair tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid UK driver's license.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy parts and accessories.
- Comfortable working in various positions, including standing, bending, and lying down.
- Ability to work in different environmental conditions, such as hot or cold weather.
**Work Environment**:
- Work is typically performed in a workshop or service bay setting.
- Occasional exposure to noise, dust, and vehicle emissions.
