Cafe Cook

Job Title: Cafe Cook, (2 positions, 12hrs and 18hrs)

Location: Moat Brae, 101 George Street, Dumfries, DG1 1EA

Wage: £13.15/h

**Responsibilities**:
The responsibilities of the cafe cook may include, but are not limited to:

- Preparing and cooking a variety of cafe menu items, such as sandwiches, salads, soups, and baked goods
- Adhering to recipes and plating specifications to meet our cafe's quality and aesthetic standards
- Monitoring ingredient inventory and placing orders as necessary to uphold freshness and availability
- Working to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service
- Upholding cleanliness and sanitation protocols in the kitchen, in line with food safety regulations
- Contributing to menu development and suggesting innovative dishes to enhance our daily/seasonal offerings

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as a cook in a cafe, restaurant, or similar food service environment
- Familiarity with various cooking techniques, ingredients, and cafe kitchen equipment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative setting
- Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality cafe fare
- Be trained to at least food hygiene level 2
- Willing to undertake other tasks appropriate to the grade of the post, which may include working in other areas of the attraction on occasion.

Physical Demands:

- The role may involve standing for extended periods and handling moderately heavy loads
- Capability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced cafe kitchen environment
