A leading Mechanical Contractor based in Newry and Dublin are currently recruiting a Mechanical Buyer to join their growing commercial team. This award-winning contractor work within the residential and housing sector on various medium-large schemes in ROIand NI.
**Your new role**
- Negotiate the best deal whilst considering the whole supply chain, liaising with Site Foremen and Project Team.
- Placing Purchase Orders with Suppliers for Goods and Services in line with budget, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Process material orders for each project keeping them in line with site progress.
- Maintain relationships with current suppliers. Establish Supplier KPIs and Service Level Agreements
- Liaise closely with wider procurement team and reporting directly to Procurement Manager.
- Dealing with any product quality concerns.
- Ensure the correct specifications are being used as per technical submittal register.
- Being the first point of contact for all suppliers and subcontractors.
- Provide analysis of costs and identify cost saving opportunities.
- Dealing with Bulk orders by drawing down and monitoring levels of stock within specific orders.
- Assist with the duties of existing purchase ledger, deal with supplier invoicing queries.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- 2-3 years Procurement of materials experience (Construction, preferably mechanical)
- Previous experience in budgeting and KPI Management
- Understanding of technical drawings.
- Excellent Sage or equivalent ERP software Skills
- Mechanical trade background or good appreciation for the mechanical sector is preferred.
