**Job Overview**

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic person to join our Technical service FM team.

Our Industrial Grounds operative will work as part of the facilities management team at the Winfrith site. The role will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of general duties including but not limited to Porterage, escorting, grounds housekeeping, compliant checks and assist as required in the delivery of reactive, planned and ad hoc maintenance tasks. You will report to the site management..

Suitable training and up-skilling - May be given, as and when required, to achieve competency and the ability to perform the following (as detailed in responsibilities).

Working hours - The core working hours are 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 15:30 Friday

**Main Duties**
- Weekly & monthly planned compliance tasks as scheduled.
- Delivery of supplies around site.
- First line response to reactive requests via helpdesk.
- General office, furniture dismantling, storage and building.
- Cleaning of external pathways, stairs and road gutters.
- Escorting of sub contractors.
- Other general industrial cleaning duties as requested (by exception).
- Keeping the external grounds and site areas in good order as per customer requirements.
- Tractor driving
- Weed spraying
- Woodland clearance
- Snow Clearance
- Industrial grass cutting
- Ad hoc porterage duties (Moves & changes, furniture management & moves, etc.).
- Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned work orders.
- Comply fully with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
- Completion of documentation as required, including RAMS and adhere to all associated permits.
- To assist all trades within the team and through the correct training be able to complete tasks away from your core skills.
- Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner
- Proactively walk the floors, reporting any defects or H&S issues to the helpdesk and appropriate manager.

Health & Safety:

- Follow Group and company policies and procedures, at all times.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety, or the environment.
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.
- Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety matters.

**What we are looking for**
- Experience of caretaking, handyperson or janitorial duties.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment.
- Have a proactive approach to varied time sensitive **delivery**.
- Confident, driven and pro-active.
- Able to do the job right and do it right first time, within a pre-determined timescale.
- Willingness to undertake further training.
- Ability to provide a schedule of works for identified additional/remedial works.
- Following risk and method statements as required on a daily basis.
- Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
- Must hold a full UK driver's license.
- Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer based systems.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
- Experience of working within a customer focused environment.
- Wanting to achieve success, for his or her self, the business and the customer.
- Presented in a clean and tidy manner to represent the company, in the most professional manner possible, utilising the uniform and PPE issued.
- Responsible for self and others to maintain a safe working environment as per the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent UK and EU amendments.
- HSE management in accordance with our Quality Management System and all legal and statutory requirements.

**Qualifications and experience requried**
- Tractor Driving Level 2
- Spraying qualifications either PA1 or PA2
- NPTC level 2 certificate in chainsaw cutting

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Dorchester: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)
