We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinic Coordinator working within the MSK clinical Management Group in the Orthopaedic Department.
The team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is a busy and diverse working environment providing a high-quality service to patients and clinical staff with booking procedures. You will be part of a team of coordinators working to provide a seamless clinical booking service and you will need to have a flexible approach and a commitment to working as part of a team.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, confident and self-motivated, enjoy working in a challenging, busy environment and will have experience of working in a busy customer focused environment.
Your work will mainly be telephone and IT based so you should have an excellent customer service background as well as good keyboard skills and proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and HISS are essential.

The post holder in conjunction with their team will be responsible for the administration and co-ordination of a patients pathway, from receipt of referral through to outpatient clinics, addition to waiting lists and admission through to final discharge from clinic.

The post holder in conjunction with their team will be responsible for the administration and co-ordination of a patient’s pathway, from receipt of referral through to outpatient clinics, addition to waiting lists and admission through to final discharge from clinic.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring effective co-ordination of all elective admissions, waiting lists and admission services within the Directorate in line with National Policy and locally agreed guidelines.
The post holder will manage an agreed number of outpatient clinics for the Medical Team, liaising with patients, carers and staff at all levels.
Sort and distribute the post to relevant staff.
Be responsible for the efficient administration of outpatient’s appointments from initial referral to patient attendance and finally discharge from clinic.
Ensure that the information on HISS is correct and complete and validate that information on a regular basis.
Work closely and as part of a team with nursing, secretarial and medical staff associated with each clinic.
Support the management of patients in a timely and efficient manner.
To implement and be responsible for setting up, maintaining and monitoring the waiting list ensuring that suspensions, cancellations and DNAs are recorded and dealt with according to the UHL Patient Access Policy.

Daily responsibility for making pre-assessment clinic appointments ensuring the completion of the appointment outcome within 24 hours of the clinic.
To schedule theatre lists as delegated by Consultant teams.
To ensure that any special equipment / requirements (eg ITU/HDU, ORMIS, foreign case notes, interpreters, scans, x-rays and prosthesis) are arranged for admission.
To liaise with ward staff / managers and patients on the day of admission to ensure patients are informed of bed availability or cancellation / new date of admission.
To be responsible for producing and circulating weekly admission lists detailing the expected admission to Wards, Theatres, Junior Medical Staff etc.
