Machine Fitter/setter

Main actions & responsibilities:
- To assist with the setting, maintenance, repair and operation of bottling and packaging machinery used to produce medicinal and food supplement products, and to ensure these goods are filled and packaged accurately to meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards
- Understand and follow all GMP procedures and participate in relevant training
- Complete packaging paperwork accurately and to company standards
- Comply with Health & Safety procedures
- Proactively work with the ECA Supervisor and colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of machinery, identifying faults & working with the ECA supervisor and any external engineers on repairs and ongoing maintenance to help achieve zero breakdowns or defects
- Keep the production rooms & machinery clean and clear to GMP standards and, assist with planned preventative maintenance and cleaning schedules
- Communicate with and work as part of the team, helping the department meet production deadlines effectively
- Provide support with other bottling room tasks and to any other production related departments, as and when required
Experience, Skills, Qualifications required:
- Engineering background and mechanical awareness is essential with a genuine interest in machine operation, repairs and maintenance
- Previous experience of working within a similar role, ideally within a product bottling, Cleanroom/ECA environment would be advantageous
- Educated to Standard Grade or National 3/4/5 level with passes in English and Maths as a minimum
- A good standard of numeracy and literacy skills as the role involves doing calculations and completing packaging documentation
- An organised individual who can effectively contribute and work well with a team whilst using their own initiative
- Effective time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Good communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships, ensuring effective communication with colleagues
- Attention to detail is essential due to the procedures which must be followed during the bottling and packaging of our medicinal products and food supplements
- Trustworthy, self-motivation, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
