**Role Purpose**:
The world of work is evolving and changing at a rapid pace, and as such, it is vital that our students leave us having developed core skills that will equip them to adapt and succeed in this changing world. The Peoples Future Ltd Skills Consultants are allocated to Faculties and Subsidiaries and work in partnership with academic colleagues to design, deliver, review, and revise courses to integrate skills for work and life alongside academic content.

Skills Consultants act as a pragmatic link to ensure that skills being developed within courses prepare students adequately and are reflective of the skills demanded within the world of work. Skills Consultants regularly review leading research, labour market information and engage employer insights to inform their practice. They work with academics to build in opportunities for students to develop and practice skill development in a real-world context via case studies, guest speakers, projects and internships.

Skills Consultants will also identify and regularly review skills, provide workshop material, contribute to the delivery of the integrated core skills sessions as part of timetabled course delivery. This will provide a seamless experience, helping students to understand the relevance and benefits of the skills input in relation to the world of work as well as potentially enhancing academic outcomes.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Under the guidance of the Lead Consultant - Student Talent and working with Associate Heads of School for Student Experience, Course Directors and other staff as appropriate, participate in the planning and integration of core skills into the design of allocated courses, identifying when and where they are introduced to, and practised by, students on each course
- Conduct labour market research, review graduate market intelligence and in turn compile resource, slides and workshop material for academic purposes.
- Take responsibility for planning and co-ordinating all internal and external skills inputs to the courses allocated.
- In agreement with Course Directors, ensure that the skills sessions are timetabled appropriately
- Under the guidance of the Lead Consultant, design, develop, deliver, evaluate and revise course materials and resources for use across the Group
- Take personal responsibility for initiating and maintaining good relationships with Associate Heads of School for Student Experience, Course Directors and other staff to ensure an excellent student experience of core skills
- Develop and maintain own understanding of the key skills sought by employers and keep up-to-date with contemporary developments in the teaching and assessment of skills

**Person Specification**:

- Experience of working with students or customers from a diverse range of backgrounds and across internal organisational boundaries to deliver measurable impact.
- Practical prior experience of developing and / or designing course material and / or training courses, which enhance the skills and knowledge of others.
- Educated to Degree or equivalent professional qualification / experience
- The ability to deliver presentations and / or group development sessions.
- Ability to prioritise own workload, with strong forward planning and organisation skills to meet deadlines.
- Proven successful communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary setting to deliver measurable impact
- Knowledge of the HE sector and the key skills sought by employers plus contemporary developments and best practice means of teaching and assessing skills progression would be an advantage
