**What can you expect?**

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our Patient Transport Service Control Room Team in the role of **Controller/Planner** at our **Bodmin base** inCornwall.

Working as a **Controller/Planner, **you will be responsible for planning and controlling the daily movement of medically eligible patient journeys to and from their healthcare appointments in our non-emergency ambulances.

The aim of this role is to ensure precise controlling and planning of the ambulances, to allow eligible patients to get to and from their appointments in a timely manner, whilst ensuring mobility and all other requirements of the booked journey are met.

We have full time permanent positions available working on a rota between the days of Monday - Sunday. More information on Working Patterns / Rota’s will be discussed in detail at the interview stage.

**Salary**: £24,375 per annum (salary TBC)

**Main Duties involve**:

- Planning and controlling the daily movement of ambulance journeys transporting eligible patients to and from their healthcare appointments.
- Allocating of physical resources and patient journeys using the Cleric System to our crew members and Volunteer Car Service workers.
- Liaising with healthcare professionals and hospital departments to ensure that we are able to maximise the utilisation of the available vehicles and staff.
- To work within a team to make decisions about transportation which deliver the best outcomes for patients.
- To work and co-operate within the team and provide support to colleagues where necessary.
- To inform the control manager/ bronze on call of any issues which require escalation as they cannot be resolved at controller team level.
- To ensure that customers and patients are contacted regarding their transport requirements, advising them of any inability to meet these requirements and advising them of any other options as soon as it is apparent that any genuine commitments cannot be met.

**What are we looking for?**
- Experience of working in a similar transport control environment, using logístical and planning skills.
- Ability to plan appropriate journey routes for drivers.
- Problem solving ability for any challenges that may occur during day control.
- Customer service focused and able to effectively handle sensitive situations.
- Have a good geographic knowledge of the area.
- Be able to stay calm under pressure.
