**About this role**

An opportunity has arisen for a Caretaker Supervisor post.

The Caretaker Supervisor is the line manager for caretakers who work in multi-storey blocks across the borough of Gateshead providing residents with a friendly, clean and safe environment to live in.

The main duties include:

- Lead a team to provide a high quality caretaker service.
- Carry out regular inspection of multi-storey blocks to ensure the requires cleaning standards are met.
- To effectively recruit employees, manage and develop employees to ensure they perform to a high standard.
- Manager employee attendance in line with Council policies and procedures.
- Work as part of a rota Reporting and responding to Health & Safety issues to provide an out of ours emergency call out service across all multi-storey blocks.
- Carry out caretaker duties where required.
- Ensure we comply with Health and Safety and Building Safety policies, carrying out appropriate employee risk assessments and carry out training with employees

Caretaker Supervisors work 37 hours per week Monday - Friday.

You will work on a rota system to provide an out of hours emergency call out service for a number of multi-storey blocks. A payment will be made for these additional duties.

The successful applicant must have the minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent A-C (4-9) including Math’s and English, or have relevant demonstratable experience.

Mobile technology and support will be provided to assist you in your role.
