**Job Summary**:As a Support Worker in the supported accommodation sector in Birmingham, you play a vital role in providing shared supported housing solutions to promote independence, safety, and security within our houses. You will empower Service Users to take positive actions to enhance their wellbeing and achieve maximum independence in their daily lives. Your ultimate goal is to prepare them for tenancy sustainment, ensuring a successful transition to their own homes.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Strength-Based Support**: Implement a strength-based approach when delivering support, focusing on the unique abilities and potential of each Service User.

**Advocacy**: Act as an advocate for Service Users, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are upheld in all matters related to housing and support.

**Confidence Building**: Coach and upskill Service Users to boost their confidence and self-esteem, enabling them to make positive decisions and achieve their goals.

**Independence Promotion**: Develop and implement individual support plans that promote independence, self-sufficiency, and life skills.

**Welfare Benefit Knowledge**: Utilize your knowledge of the UK welfare benefit system to assist Service Users in accessing the financial support they are entitled to.

**Social Housing Expertise**: Navigate the social housing system in the UK, assisting Service Users in securing and maintaining appropriate housing solutions.

**Safeguarding**: Maintain a high level of awareness regarding safeguarding policies in the UK, taking necessary actions to protect vulnerable adults and ensure their safety and well-being.

**Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration**: Collaborate with various multi-disciplinary agencies specializing in supporting vulnerable adults, coordinating services to provide holistic care.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as a Support Worker, preferably in a supported accommodation setting.
- Knowledge of the UK welfare benefit system and social housing system.
- Strong awareness of safeguarding policies and procedures in the UK.
- Ability to work with and support multiple disadvantaged clients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic and compassionate approach to working with vulnerable individuals.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Relevant qualifications in social care or related fields (desirable).

**Salary**: £11.00-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
