**LOCATION**: Albert Road, Bristol - Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Sustainability and Engagement Assistant

**Purpose of the role**:

- Help us to maintain and promote BWCs reputation as a sector leader through our waste reduction and sustainability projects.
- Help us advance our own environmental and sustainability agenda by supporting the wider team and colleagues across the business on net zero and sustainability reporting / initiatives.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the delivery of key projects that have a direct sustainability impact and/or improve customer experience such as our annual ‘Students on the Move’ initiative, our Flats Recycling project and our internal carbon reporting.
- To support communities across Bristol in their journey to becoming cleaner and greener through innovation project delivery and engagement.
- Assist with the development of detailed, robust and deliverable technical and commercial solutions to improve the business
- Undertake research and analysis in relation to strategic and operational issues and produce reports, briefings and presentations as required
- Assist with investigations and development of new ideas and innovations in order to provide options appraisals and recommendations
- Provide effective data files, administration and other support as required by the Sustainability and Engagement team
- Support campaign activity focusing on reducing residual waste, increasing recycling and to change behaviour
- Gather data and information to inform key team activity and support KPI team reporting
- Support development of internal campaign materials with environmental and sustainability messaging

**Essential Requirements for the Role**:

- Able to demonstrate analytical ability and experience of research methodologies using a variety of media
- Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations, and to present complex information in concise reports and presentations
- Results orientated with the ability to prioritise and to work to deadline
- Experience of community engagement with proven positive results
- Ability to think creatively and use judgement, experience and initiative to solve problems
- An aptitude for collaboration and cross team working
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to engage with all sections of the community
- A positive, problem-solving attitude
- Strong ICT skills, specifically MS Office suite
- Ability to work autonomously and manage own time/workload
- Ability to work outside and on foot
- Current, valid Full driving licence
- Being highly organised and detail-orientated is a given
- A can-do attitude
