We are currently recruiting an Engineering Final Inspector for our Congleton based client. Please find job specification below:
- Read, interpret and understand engineering drawings and associated shop packet paperwork (i.e. Job Card, Kitting Lists and Work Instructions) in order to verify that products have been correctly manufactured.
- Provide visual and dimensional inspection ensuring the required level of product quality is achieved at the final assembly stages of product realisation.
- Select and utilise appropriate measuring equipment, ensuring where necessary that dimensional/key characteristic data is recorded in Dimensional Inspection Reports (DIRs).
- Ensure that all measuring equipment used is within its re-calibration date prior to use, reporting any expired items to the Inspector Team Leader.
- Prevent escape or release of products which do not conform to the quality requirements specified in the engineering drawings, job cards or associated internal or customer specifications/requirements.
- Ensure inspection verification is correctly recorded on associated paperwork and correctly recorded in EFACs, ensuring that inspection records are suitably maintained and retained in accordance with relevant procedures.
- Record components lost to the correct scrap code on the EFACS recording system.
- Ensure materials batch traceability is suitably maintained.
- Verify the presence, conformance and readability of the etch identification on all products within each Works Order batch.
- Check that previous Job Card operations have been correctly completed and stamped, reporting any anomalies to the relevant Team Leader for correction.
- On completing each Job Card inspection operation, check the quality of your work and confirm that it conforms to the requirements by stamping the operation complete. Verify that the product is free from foreign objects prior to passing to the packing stage.
- Securely store, correctly handle and adequately maintain measuring equipment in order to preserve their intended measurement accuracy.
- Ensure all materials and products are lifted and handled safely and in accordance with manual handling training provided.
- Ensure that the required standards of behaviour and discipline are adhered to.
- Attend training or participate in improvement events as required. Support the Inspection Team Leader in the training of new personnel.
- Provide cover when extra hours are required to be worked, both during the week and at weekends, which may also include participation in the night shift rota.
- Provide support and have the flexibility to move to another Inspection Team, should operational demands require it.
- Ensure that all related work activities and records comply with relevant quality standards and NADCAP requirements.
**ASSOCIATED RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Ensure that all work activities and records comply with Company Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practice.
- Support the Inspection Team Leader and Head of Quality in seeking and delivering improvements to all aspects of Inspection.
Hours of work 07:00 - 15:30 Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 12:00 Friday

Pay rate £13.46 per hour rising to £14.84 after probationary period

This is a Temporary to Permanent role.
