**1-month initial temporary contract - likely extension/on-going**

I am working with a key client in the Blackburn area who are a leading global manufacturer and supplier of technical components to the aerospace sector. They are looking to hire a Materials Controller on a temporary basis, to assist with the management of critical materials and their data:
**As a **Materials Controller, you will be required to conduct the following duties**:

- Primarily manage Time & Temperature sensitive materials and their movement through the business
- Inspection process, ensuring paperwork and certificates meet specifications and suitability, raising issues where appropriate
- Ensuring material movement transaction is performed electronically, and accurately, to the relevant locations within the ERP system
- Ensure material life is maximised and highlighting any need to look to extend material life
- Remove expired materials from the system to ensure accurate stocks
- Ensure the storage of materials is organised, traceable and complies with relevant standards and permits a safe working environment Work to production plans and timescales
- Issue materials within the ERP system to ensure that full traceability exists and to manage any anomalies with respect to quantities
- Select and supply at required times the necessary parts or materials for processing operations and ensure these are correctly recorded with the ERP system
- Undertake cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels and where discrepancies occur - highlight to management and suggest solutions
- Support the other members of the stores team
- Physically removing items from the freezer storage and returning or storing them therein where required and as produced

**The **Materials Controller will need to have the following attributes**:

- Ideally qualified with NVQ L1 or 2 in Manufacturing or basic mathematics qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail, with an understanding of accurate transactions and records
- Experience with manual handling
- Computer literate, Microsoft Office experience, and ideally materials management database experience (MRP/ERP) etc
- Experience within a precision manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills, with a keen eye for Health, Safety and Quality. A flexible attitude, ability to work in teams and independently at times
