Your responsibilities

We are looking for an energetic, production focused QHSE (Quality, Health & Safety, Environment) Engineer to join us at thyssenkrupp Materials UK As the QHSE Engineer, you will use your technical experience to handle customer complaints, internal product rejects, maintenance of calibrations, internal auditing and assist in accident and incident investigation. You will also be visiting some of our customers so flexibility and travel is required.

Based at our site in Milton Keynes, your working pattern would be Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm with early finish Fridays

At our Milton Keynes site, we process metal bars and tubes in various grades and sizes. We have state-of-the-art cutting facilities, including CNC machining with integrated robotics. Our materials are used in the aerospace, defence and medical sectors.

Your main duties will be:
Coordinating problem solving activities and be able to use accurate data to drive improvement initiatives
Reviewing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth. Involvement in production projects and therefore ensuring quality objectives are achieved.
Handling and investigation of internal & external complaints, rejects and returns to establish the root causes using appropriate methods.
Assist the relevant process owners to define and instigate corrective and preventive actions whilst maintaining records.
Conduct or assist with product, internal and external audits at other company locations, and supplier or service providers as part of the company audit plan.
Perform and assist in the implementation and use of risk management tools, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, capability studies and FAIR’s in line with customer or company requirements.
Lead daily material review meetings (MRB) with cross-functional teams Maintain KPI data/charts and monitor trends to identify improvement activities and reduce Cost of Poor Quality
Carry out internal audits to the UK audit schedule and facilitate closure of non-conformities
Maintaining and updating specifications and approval listings
Maintaining and updating the stamp control register
Provide other support to the wider QHSE team as relevant for the role

**Profile**:
Essential experience, skills and knowledge:
PPAP and APQP implementation experience
Previous experience as a quality engineer or technician
Working knowledge of the Annex SL Framework and the AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001 requirements
Trained internal auditor
Full and valid Driving Licence to drive in the UK

Desirable experience, skills and knowledge:
Aerospace, automotive or defence background
Previous experience in metal manufacturing or similar
