Night Porter

Overview:
Hours: 40 hours per week; 4 nights in 7 including weekends and BH - 10 hours per shift 22.00 to 08.00

We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Night Porter to join our team. As a Night Porter, you will adopt a welcoming, yet security and safety conscious presence at the hotel overnight, ensuring the safety of guests and hotel property. To provide a service for the comfort and satisfaction of the guests. To carry out in an efficient and responsible manner, key duties as for the Night Porter Duty List and daily hand over procedures.

**Responsibilities**:

- **General Duties**
- Being the first point of contact for customers and guests of the hotel, overnight, answering queries and resolving problems in a professional manner.
- Ensure Guest property lost / found procedure adhered to.
- To assist with the correct service of Restaurant/ Bar menu and beverages.
- To ensure all documentation, i.e. bills are completed as necessary and carried out as per the Hotel standards.
- To strive and anticipate customer needs whenever possible and react to these to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Preparation of functions rooms as required.
- Ensure all corridors are clear; fire extinguishers and fire doors are secure.
- Clean and tidy public areas where necessary.
- Order newspapers and deliver where necessary.
- Carry out timely and efficient “Morning Call” service as required.
- Service of drinks and light refreshments according to guest requests.
- To ensure a good level of product and local knowledge for guests when requested.

**H&S Duties**
- To use cleaning chemicals as directed, to achieve desired result and reduce wastage.

Record all “near-misses”, accidents and injuries, which occur as appropriate

Qualifications & Experience:

- Experience in Night Porter Work in hospitality setting.
- Extremely adaptable & flexible; responds to change positively.
- Remains calm under pressure.
- Communicates clearly and openly, both verbally and in writing
- Highly motivated and creative; looks for solutions.
- Great decision-making skills and can act on own initiative as well as part of a team.
