**We are launching a brand-new team in North Somerset within the Family Wellbeing Service in Early Help, who will be working with Families needing intensive family support.**

**This is a new and exciting opportunity for a permanent Team Leader position within the Strengthening Family Connections Team.**

**About the role**

The role will be to Lead with the Manager the development of the new team, looking at processes, working with partnership groups and young people’s forums to ensure a collaborative work approach towards the launch and roll out of the team.

The Team Leader will have direct line management responsibilities for the Family Support Workers, ensuring monthly supervisions, yearly appraisals, and team meetings.

Experience of working with children and families with complex needs will be vital to support the highly skilled family support workers in the team.

The Strengthening Family Connections team will work with a focus on relationships, enabling and supporting change for families openly and collaboratively using individualised interventions. The work will be covering the hours of 7am -8pm on a shift basis and will have flexible hybrid working opportunities.

The role of the Team Leader will be:

- To work with families and children 0-18 years and 25 SEND to complete assessments, plan and deliver short term direct work focused on the need of the family.
- To establish and maintain excellent working relationships with partner agencies within the statutory and non-statutory services to ensure a cohesive approach to preventing family breakdowns
- To complete all required information on to our family recording systems
- To carry out supervisions, observations, and appraisals of the team
- Be responsible for quality Assurance and complete monthly reports and action plans
- Hold team meetings and support the progression of the team
- To be instrumental to the development of the new team
- To provide direct line management to a team of Family Support Workers

**Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.**

**About you**

To be successful you will:

- Be qualified at Level four or above in the relevant field
- Have experience with working with children, young people and families with complex needs
- Have strong organisational and planning skills
- Be confident in the delivery of 1-1 and group intervention
- Have excellent time management skills
- Have a flexible work approach
- Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships
- Work well within a team and on your own initiative
- Be curious in your approach
- Work in a way which is considerate to anti discriminatory practise
- You will feel confident to offer mentoring and support and step in to make decisions
- You will be able to take the Lead in supporting family support workers when needed
- Be able to run peer support groups
