**The vacancy**

The Rough Sleeping Initiative partnership of Tonbridge and Malling Council, Tunbridge Wells council and Porchlight to deliver support services to rough sleepers in the district to secure and maintain accommodation reducing the flow of new rough sleepers to the street.

The role will provide intensive support to find clients accommodation and then for clients who have been placed into temporary accommodation and their own tenancies after a period of homelessness. Assistance with housing related support will be provided to prevent homelessness, which may include budgeting landlord liaison, securing accommodation, debt management, education, employment, setting up home, neighbour complaints, health and safety, accessing welfare and housing benefits, mental health and substance misuse, landlord liaison and, referring and liaising with more specialised agencies where appropriate.

- A patient, compassionate understanding:

- Of individuals who have spent many years on the street and may find it difficult to engage with mainstream services.
- Of individuals at times of crisis in their lives who may struggle to access services for the first time.
- Excellent communication, administrative and negotiation skills.
- Enjoy working both as part of a busy team and independently within the community.
- A passion for working in a client focused manner and be committed to achieving positive outcomes for the people you support.
- An ability to set clear goals and boundaries, to empower clients, identify with clients and help them reach their full potential.
- A high level of resilience and the ability to work under sustained pressure.

**Working Pattern**: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility required.

**Contract**: Fixed Term until 31st March 2025
