**Job Summary**

**Are you passionate about improving the health of individuals who use tobacco through offering advice and support to stop?**

This role will support WDP’s new Specialist Smoking Cessation Service for the London Borough of Redbridge.

We are seeking applicants who are interested and motivated to improve people’s physical health and wellbeing, by providing advice and support that will help them stop smoking or using smokeless tobacco.

**The Service**

Launching in April 2023, WDP’s Redbridge Specialist Smoking Cessation Service is a new contract for the borough. We are currently building our specialist smoking cessation team who will be co-located with other WDP colleagues at our well-established substance misuse service in Ilford.

**The Role**

The Smoking Cessation Advisor will:

- Deliver a combination of behavioural support, including evidence-based (NICE, NCST), and pharmacological interventions, in a variety of settings including GP practices, community pharmacies, COPD units, mental health services, maternity units and other community settings.
- Smoking cessation interventions will be delivered across group, one-to-one, and digital/remote support offers, to provide a wide range of accessibility options and reduce barriers to accessing support.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of building a new service to deliver specialist advice and support throughout the community, and in doing so, to improve the health and wellbeing of those living in Redbridge.

This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some occasional early starts, evening cover, and occasional weekend work as required, on a fair rotational basis.

**Location**

WDP Redbridge is based in Ilford, close to the station. This role also requires being based in satellite locations across the borough of Redbridge.
