**About the role and what we’re looking for**

With previous experience working in a busy environment, you should be organised and able to provide a high level of administrative assistance to the team.

As a self-motivated individual, you should also be able to demonstrate reliability, flexibility and initiative.

**The main duties of the post are**:

- collecting, opening and scanning post within the service
- recording of correspondence and key statutory processes on a back-office database,
- monitoring the general team registration mailbox
- undertaking any other general administration duties appropriate to the role and grade

**Your essential skills, knowledge and experience**
- a good working and current knowledge of Word and Excel
- good literacy and written communication skills
- good level of general accuracy
- good level of keyboard skills
- ability to follow process and procedures
- ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and on the telephone
- confident in your ability to work on your own initiative
- knowledge and experience of database usage
- at least one year’s experience of working within a busy office environment
- experience of using multi-functional devices for scanning, printing and photocopying and using large scale plotters/printers

**Your essential qualifications**
- GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths, or equivalent qualification or level of experience

**If you have the following experience or qualifications - it’s a bonus**
- experience of working with Ocella or good data base skills
- knowledge and experience of working with a GIS system
- an understanding of the planning service and the services which it provides
