Serco Defence are recruiting for a Spacetrack Operator to work as a key member of our dedicated operations and maintenance team. This is a permanent position based at RAF Fylingdales, North Yorkshire, offering employment in a unique engineering environment.

The position of Spacetrack Operator involves learning and developing expertise to analyse satellite orbits, space-based events and SSPAR radar performance to support RAF Fylingdales’ primary missile warning mission, and secondary mission of space surveillance. This requires utilising existing, or developed knowledge of orbital mechanics and satellite capabilities, and learning about the radar mission and systems.

**Main responsibilities of the role include**:
The Spacetrack Operators work as part of a shift team providing 24/7 support to the RAF on a fixed shift pattern of 12-hour day and night shifts with regular rest days and extended fixed leave periods, the roster also offers flexibility via a personal shift swap arrangement with colleagues.

Infrequent travel may be required to represent Serco and RAF Fylingdales in technical exchanges or at conferences or training events.

We are looking for a self-motivated team player with an interest in space operations. Successful Spacetrack Operators are enthusiastic and reliable, they constantly learn and develop new skills as the space domain changes.

Since the role is so specialised, site familiarisation and on-the-job training will be provided at RAF Fylingdales within the radar.
