Unipart Logistics (UL) has secured a contract to run the new, custom-built Jaguar Land Rover Global Parts Logistics Centre at Appleby Magna in Leicestershire. The operation will be housed at Jaguar Land Rover’s new 2.94m square foot Mercia campus, oneof the largest UK warehouse developments for a single customer. With a multimillion-pound major facility investment program already underway, promising a unique state-of-the-art facility, we require an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to joinus for this prestigious and exciting opportunity.
You will take Facilities Maintenance to the next level for operations and overall efficiency. This presents an outstanding opportunity for a high calibre multi skill Facilities Maintenance Technician to transfer knowledge and experience from other or similarprevious roles.
**Facilities Maintenance Technician Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Always act in a safe manner and highlight any health and safety risks
- Update PM and TPM schedules
- Carry out first fix repairs to building services where possible and if required providing additional information to the Facilities Manager (FM) so the correct contractor can be instructed to make the appropriate repair and minimise disruption to operations
- Maintain all plant and machinery (including internal office fixture and fittings)
- Respond to, escalate, record, and complete planned and reactive maintenance tasks in accordance with schedules
- Basic fault finding on electrical and mechanical plants, equipment and machines, following logical steps to resolve the issues when under pressure
- Be proactive in highlighting and driving preventive measures and controls
- Work with the FM to identify and specify spares stocks to ensure breakdowns are covered and ‘no parts’ situations are minimised
- Specify and order materials and purchased parts and machinery to support work required
- Assist FM to identify process and method improvements and cost saving opportunities
- Advise and train other maintenance operatives as required, assist in any training
- Ensure housekeeping is to highest standard, working with ‘5S philosophy’
- Liaise with other departments, Customers, contractors and Suppliers as necessary
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the companies’ standards and requirements
- Carry out emergency site jobs if requested
- Small project installations both electrical and maintenance
- Basic civil, carpentry, and plumbing works
- Assisting in site inductions/ toolbox talks with contractors to ensure they follow 'Guidance for Contractors' guidelines
- Support supervision of sub-contractors working within Unipart and associated buildings to ensure legislative requirements are met and fully satisfied and they meet sites rules and regulations
- Work with FM to ensure a cost-effective solution and method of work is applied across the role for controlling department’s budget
- Any other Ad-hoc duties as required

**Facilities Maintenance Technician Requirements**:

- Working knowledge of the latest regulatory and statutory regulation, the likes of PUWER, LOLER and the Health and Safety acts plus any EU/UK regulations
- Good basic experience of mechanical and electrical plants
- 3 years minimum maintenance experience; problem solving and fault finding, mechanical systems
- FLT driving license preferred but not essential
- Time served, multi skilled, with a good basic level of education
- Basic experience in both mechanical and electrical functions - 18th Edition would be advantageous but not essential
- Computer literate
