**Full Time /Permanent**

**37 hours per week (12 week Rota including weekend working)**

**Salary £20,812 - £21,575**

**What’s in it for you**:
Dorset Waste Services are looking for a Cleansing operative to work at the Wareham Depot. You will be working as part of a team on the Cleansing service. To clean public areas and be responsible for maintaining standards of cleanliness for Dorset Council. The post will require a B category driving licence as the role will involve driving vehicles up to 3.5t. and may require you to tow a trailer. Responsibility will include daily vehicle checks, including ensuring the vehicle is mechanically operational and roadworthy. You must be prepared to work in all weather conditions, make early starts and be able to work flexible hours. You must be able to take and give instructions and have good communication skills as you will be dealing with members of the public on a regular basis. This is a physically demanding job.

**What you can expect to be doing**:
**About you**:
A good understanding of Health and Safety with previous experience of working in waste management
A good local knowledge of the Wareham area.
Experience of working to clearly defined schedules within prescribed criteria
Experience of working in a customer focussed environment
A knowledge and experience within a cleansing role
Knowledge of relevant standards, and techniques
Working knowledge of driving related vehicle maintenance
Good communication skills
Systematic and well organised
Ability to work on own or as part of a team.
Prepared to work in all weather conditions
Willingness to work out of hours in emergency circumstances

**Additional information**:
You will require a Category B driving licence.
